Nico is looking for a

Network and Cybersecurity Specialist for Teleste

to work on the future of secure passenger information solutions in Tampere.

As a Specialist for Network / Cybersecurity area, you will support Teleste’s project deliveries with IP related tasks in a context of train environments. Part of your role will be also hands-on development related to Cybersecurity topics. You have a developer mindset who is willing to take part of the asset and product development from network and cybersecurity point of view.


Your responsibilities will focus on the following areas: 

IP network’s part 

  • Understanding, planning and configuring IP networks
  • Configuring of network devices (e.g. Westermo switches) 
  • Investigating and resolving network related issues
  • Network related analysis (bandwidth calculations, threat analysis)
  • Building and configuring networks to test benches simulating a train environment.

Cybersecurity part 

  • Cybersecurity related software implementation and configuration 
  • Working in close collaboration with project delivery teams supporting with network and cybersecurity related activities.

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have experience of

  • Network Infrastructure and Security: Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, switches, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, Virtualbox, Wireshark 
  • Basic Linux skills, embedded linux is a plus
  • Programming: Knowledge of other programming and scripting languages is a plus
  • Solid understanding of Software development and system architecture
  • Hands-on experience on cybersecurity related topics
  • Experience with tools used to scan security vulnerabilities
  • Experience working with standards and frameworks, especially on product security level (e.g. TS 50701, IEC 63452 are a big plus)
  • Quality-driven mindset
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English


Reporting to Project Software Development Leader, you will work in close co-operation with Teleste’s developers, testers and project team members. Preferred location for this role is Tampere, where Teleste has an extensive testing laboratory for the product portfolio.
